HIdradenitis Suppurativa is an autoinflammatory condition that attacks hair follicles, causing painful recurring abscesses in sweaty areas of your body. HS isn’t contagious because it has nothing to do with infection. It’s an autoinflammatory condition and is not tied to hygiene. It can be extremely painful and cause people to avoid seeking care as a result of feeling self-conscious. People with HS are often not treated properly as it is often mistaken for other skin conditions and issues. The HEAT Kit will help people with HS advocate for themselves in a medical setting where it can otherwise be challenging.
